Build a study plan for Québec Class 5 knowledge test using official Québec material, targeted practice and a review of your uncertain answers.

Prepare for Québec Class 5 knowledge test in Québec — illustrated driving guide

A study cycle you can repeat

Begin with the current official learning material. Divide study by subject rather than repeatedly taking a large mixed test: signs, right of way, road position, speed choice and sharing the road each deserve focused attention. Use drawings or examples to explain why a rule produces a safe decision.

After each chapter, choose a relevant practice group and review every uncertain answer. Revisit the official passage, explain the rule without looking at the options and try another group later. Keep test-day preparation separate: check official identification, service and appointment instructions. Practice completion is a learning signal, not an official qualification.

Separate the school stage from the SAAQ test

Québec’s Class 5 route includes driving-course steps as well as SAAQ’s own knowledge and road tests. The school assessment leading to a learner licence is not the same appointment as SAAQ’s later knowledge test. Identify your completed stage before trying to book the next service.

Use SAAQclic for the relevant appointment

SAAQ directs knowledge and road-test appointments through SAAQclic. Check the current account, file and eligibility instructions before selecting a date. Resolve access or accommodation needs with SAAQ; never enter government authentication information into a practice site or assume that taking practice questions creates a licensing file.

Study illustrated situations as well as signs

SAAQ links its reference guides, course modules and illustrated-question guidance from the Class 5 page. When revising an illustration, identify the road users and applicable controls before selecting an answer. SAAQ explicitly distinguishes its quiz from a replica of the official knowledge test; use practice to expose gaps, not predict questions.
