A study cycle you can repeat

Begin with the current official learning material. Divide study by subject rather than repeatedly taking a large mixed test: signs, right of way, road position, speed choice and sharing the road each deserve focused attention. Use drawings or examples to explain why a rule produces a safe decision.

After each chapter, choose a relevant practice group and review every uncertain answer. Revisit the official passage, explain the rule without looking at the options and try another group later. Keep test-day preparation separate: check official identification, service and appointment instructions. Practice completion is a learning signal, not an official qualification.

Start with the Class 5 Level I application

The provincial application page links the handbook and the MyGovNL permit test. Check which test route fits your language and assistance needs before beginning. The new-driver process is graduated, so a practice score or knowledge result is only one part of progressing to a driving licence.

Complete the post-test appointment before driving

The official instructions distinguish the written exam from the appointment that validates results, checks identity, performs the vision step and completes licence issuance. They expressly say not to drive until that appointment has been attended. Prepare accepted documents and any required consent from the current official list.

Use the handbook for signs and practical decisions

Study the Driver’s Handbook, formerly called the Road User Guide, for the local rules and sign meanings. After a car practice session, revisit the topic that caused an error and explain the safe decision. Check current language and appointment arrangements directly; a translated practice page is not an official test-language guarantee.
