Study from the current official material

Start with the official handbook or learning resources linked below. Check the issuing authority, edition and any separate amendments; the date of a downloaded file does not establish that its rules or fees are current. Keep the official website available when a question concerns a requirement that may have changed.

Study one subject at a time, explain its rules in your own words and then practise related questions. When an explanation and an official requirement appear to disagree, use the official source for your jurisdiction and report the discrepancy to DrivePreKit. This page links to official resources rather than claiming ownership of or republishing a handbook.

Prepare both parts of the knowledge test

Nova Scotia describes road rules and sign recognition as separate parts of the Class 7 knowledge test. Study both with the provincial handbook and keep track of weaknesses separately. Check eligibility and choose the online or in-person route before paying, since the sequence of additional requirements differs.

A knowledge pass does not permit immediate driving

The official page states that applicants must complete additional licensing requirements after an online pass, including an office visit. Follow the identity, vision, consent where applicable, photo and licence steps. Keep the result or payment confirmation, but wait until the learner licence has actually been issued before driving.

Arrange equipment or assistance in advance

For online testing, check the current computer, camera and test-environment requirements. If you need an interpreter or a verbal test, contact the Registry of Motor Vehicles about arrangements before starting. Use car practice to review the underlying rules; do not assume study support can be used during the official test.
